Why?

Let me explain the reason why I created the Fidelity Ward Website. One of the hardest things to do in life is be consistent. I find it is much easier to have consistent ideas and hope most of your actions align with your ideals. I guess that's all any of us can do. Until we reach a point when our self control is such that we are completely consistent. I'm not sure many ever reach that point or if it's even possible.

However, in the genre of questing for the ideal of near-perfect self control, a concept of a place that had a consistency of spirit to it appealed to me. Let me explain what I mean by consistency of spirit. One of the things I have run into in my life over and over, is being co-opted or corrupted by the righteous. Unintentionally I'm sure, but none-the-less, influenced or affected for evil in the bosom of the very places I have fled to for clarity and respite.

Here is the problem -- everything carries a spirit with it. When a news outlet carries a story about something evil, there is evil in talking about the evil. I recently visited the website of a "Christian" news outlet. This outlet tends to lean towards shocking tabloid or outlandish styles of headlines and stories. On the front page was the link to an article about a gay man and some evil the man perpetrated. The problem is that the article went into explicit detail about the actions that the man took towards an innocent child. It made me physically ill. The words brought evil with them. I must confess, there was a warning at the top of the article that it may contain some graphic content. I have seen these kinds of warnings before on sites such as this and assume that it means slightly graphic subject matter, not a shocking graphic portrayal.

I believe there are ways to report, more difficult perhaps, but ways in which evil need not be brought with the reporting. When I was a child I remember getting into conversations with parents or other adults in which I was exposed to concepts that I wasn't emotionally mature enough to handle. They left permanent scars on my memory.

At the root of this concept is the power of influence. You can not stick your hand into a pile of mud and expect to pull it out as clean as before you stuck it in. It's just not possible. Why does anyone think they can dwell on evil or be exposed to it and not be affected by it? I don't believe it's possible. I believe that individuals are subject to influences around them to varying degrees. So why did I create Fidelity Ward? The concept was an outlet or place where-in individuals could go and not ever be burned. A place not unlike an ice-cream parlor where you can pick the flavors you're exposed to and determine for yourself what you will consume.

In this ice-cream shop, you won't find unexpected fecal flavors that leave you retching and wishing that you had never been exposed to what you just were exposed to. The title of Fidelity Ward means a true place of safety. There are some Amish-like individuals who might find things here that are expressively evil, they might has a problem with things that are written here... To them, I apologize, sincerely and truly. The point of Fidelity Ward is to do the opposite, to be a place where information is filtered, not for substance of information, but filtered against smutty details and information that do harm.
